Diversify to multiply?

Diversify to multiply?

We visit many different exam locations, and a recent trip to a hotel hosting exams show how diversifying can make the most of your space.

R ‘n’ R and much more...

Hotels are often associated with rest, relaxation and holidays, and many across the UK are offering this and much, much more! The majority of organisations, whether they operate in the private or corporate sector, hold events of some kind, such as meetings or assessments, and they need the space to do this. In cities such as London, the room you require might be hard to come by, which is when you start to look beyond your office or business premises for that all-important venue space.

Get educated

Our recent client is a large four-star hotel in North West London, offering elegant rooms and great facilities to both leisure and business customers. We delivered 230 folding exam desks for assessments it was hosting, which is an example of how you can use your hotel space to raise income and boost your brand, here are a few other ways you might diversify to multiply!

1. Top of the class

It’s not just exams that colleges, universities and other education providers offer, they might also run classes, open days and social events. By working with some of these institutions and hosting their events, you could see a rise in income and also spread the word regarding your hotel. If you have a small chain, then you could find that establishments use a selection of your premises for their activities.

2. Love your location

There are exhibitions of all sizes going on across the country and there’s sure to be one that would fit your venue space. If your hotel is in a particular location, such as having close proximity to mountains, beaches, and sporting grounds, then you could think about working with exhibitions that offer goods/services to those enjoying these types of places, such as camping, climbing and water sports events.

3. Action!

A rather unusual use for venue spaces, or for the wider use of your hotel, is as a filming location. This has the added benefit that you could see your income rise, but your location may also make it to the small screen. This in itself is a form of advertising and could in turn result in an increase in visitor numbers who want to spend some time on a former film set!

4. The corporate client

We’ve often supplied office furniture to companies who have outsourced their space so other organisations can use it for meetings and conferences. Generally, business clients expect a certain level of comfort, refreshments and technical resources, such as modern sound systems. If your hotel is already set up to deliver on all these different fronts then offering event space to companies could be the perfect way to utilise your venue.

5. Taking it outdoors

It’s not only indoor space that customers visit hotels for, it can also be to enjoy some time in the on-site gardens, perhaps play some tennis on the courts or simply sit outside enjoying some refreshments. If you’ve got a great outdoor space - it doesn’t have to be huge - you can also think about hosting events, such as fairs, charity fundraisers, and corporate away-days - the possibilities are endless, and don’t forget, we have all the indoor and outdoor furniture you need.

(Please note - these chairs do not belong to Chair Hire) If however, you are after chairs for exams, we have thousands in stock which complement our exam desks perfectly.
