British summers are the best - blazing sun, trips to the coast, delicious Pimms, tennis and let’s not forget cricket! We were recently very excited to attend a large cricket event held in Kent that involved international Lashings XI players pitting their skills against local club Leigh Academy XI.

We took some photos of the whole occasion, not forgetting to get some great snaps of the furniture we supplied for the event - including 360 of our white folding chairs and 36 of our 6ft round trestle tables. These were the perfect choice for the events of the day, which included a fantastic performance from the local team that were beaten by the pro players by just 47 runs. Organisers and guests of the Lashings XI tournament at Bexley Cricket Club could not have wished for a better day, as the sun blazed down with temperatures hitting the high 20s on what must be one of the hottest temperatures of the year!

As players bowled, fielded and completed runs under the beautifully hot sunshine, guests looked on from the side lines as seasoned pros - such as England test cricketer Chris Schofield and New Zealand player Tim McIntosh - scored 71 and 87 runs respectively. Leigh Academy put in an admirable performance with players Jas Bassan and Junaid Nadir achieving 71 and 42 runs respectively.

Top class all the way...

Although the cricket game was the focal point for the event - there was much on offer for guests and visitors arriving later in the day. When we arrived, we were delighted to see how useful and elegant our 360 white folding chairs and 6ft trestle tables were proving to be. As you can see from our photos they were set up in a huge marquee, which was the location for a delicious three course Michelin-inspired meal and refreshments for over 300 people. What better way to start a sunny afternoon of watching an exciting cricket match than in a beautiful setting with top class food.

In addition to this, there was a barbecue all fired up and ready to serve visitors who arrived later, as well as a fully licensed bar - for those cooling refreshments in the afternoon sunshine.
